Cedar & Slate Entry

• Redesigned existing entry: original rough sawn cedar and exposed aggregate concrete floor made for a cold and unwelcoming entry

• Built new door/window assemblies to gain thermal insulation and improved security

• Replaced old, dark mahogany veneered doors with new fir frame and panel doors

• Sanded down old rough sawn cedar, finished with a natural herbal oil finish

• Added simple flat stock fir trim around windows, doors, and baseboards to add dimension to the room, as well as picture molding at the ceiling to give definition and functionality for hanging art

• Covered up the old concrete floor with new slate chosen to compliment the color of the woodwork

• Installed two pieces of previously constructed furniture (see custom furniture page) which fit in with the ambience of the entry

• Added new low voltage, adjustable lights to highlight woodwork and artwork
